How Do I Heat Tortillas with Butter?

Mary Ylisela
knowledge is as follows

Tortillas are a Mexican flat bread made with flour or corn. Tortillas can be eaten alongside soup or a meal, or a combination of meat, cheese and vegetables can be served in the tortilla. Popular dishes served in tortillas are tacos, enchiladas and burritos. Since most people use store-bought tortillas, tortillas need to be heated prior to serving or eating them.

Things You'll Need

Frying pan

1 tbsp. butter

Microwave-safe bowl

Pastry brush

Step 1

Remove as many tortillas as needed from the package, and set them aside.

Step 2

Set your frying pan on the stove top and heat to medium-low. Most pans can accommodate only one tortilla at a time, but you may be able to heat two at a time if the pan is extra-large.

Step 3

Melt 1 tbsp. butter in the microwave. Remove the melted butter from the heat, and set on the countertop.

Step 4

Brush one side of the tortilla with the melted butter, and set the tortilla in the heated frying pan. Allow it to warm for one to two minutes, checking to make sure that it browns just a little. Brush the top side of the tortilla with butter, and flip the tortilla over to heat and brown the second side.

Sprinkle cinnamon sugar on the warmed, buttery tortilla for a sweet treat.

Keep an eye on the heating tortilla to make sure the butter doesn't burn.
